Some recent email and forum talk indicates that certain topics, including weight loss, are getting frowned on by web search sites, article publishers and advertising media. And certainly products promising instant results, magic potions or pills, and any other outrageous claims deserve increased scrutiny.

But for those of us who don’t have the 6-pack abs or the model’s shape, or desire to improve our health, weight management is something we can and should control.
We can each eat less, avoid excess fats and sugars, get some measure of daily exercise, and otherwise improve our lifestyles.

Getting our bodies to properly metabolize the food we eat accomplishes a natural management of body weight withour pills, potions or fad dieting. To learn more, there is a free guide available about Balancing Your Metabolism. Have a look, I think you’ll find the information to be of great value!

Homebrewing for Healthy Beer?

I found this fascinating quote today:

When you homebrew, and you crack open a bottle of your own homemade beer, you will notice how much better it tastes – how the flavors are richer, how the feel on your tongue is more authentic, and how refreshing it is to drink. Few commercially prepared beer can boast that.Homebrewing – Home Business..Not!, Jun 2009

You should read the whole article.

Travel for Healthy Living?

Aside from moving to a cleaner environment, what I’m talking about here is getting away as a refreshment for your daily routine. It seems to work best if you’re able to get to a completely different location – if you live in the mountains, go to the sea – living in a city, get into the wild.

Even a few days, but best a week or two outside your usual surroundings of work, tv news, traffic, whatever is possible will revive your spirit and perhaps change (or reinforce) your outlook on life. If you can afford to visit a foreign region or country to soak in a different culture, so much the better.

For a few get-away ideas, check out http://www.insiderstraveltips.net  who knows, maybe the travel “bug” will get to you!

Does Blogging help Healthy Living?

Rocking Chairs at Historic Poole Forge

As a somewhat recently retired (my choice, thankfully) person, it’s also been my choice to get serious about my blogs. There are a couple of good reasons for this.

First, it keeps my mind active and alert as I learn new skills, techniques and information. And also, it lends some purpose to my existence, outside my family, as I attempt to bring good things to other folks, through my own experience.

Is this an improvement for healthy living over sitting in the proverbial rockin’ chair? I surely think so. Is it healthy for us to have puposeful activities, staying involved and learning? Of course it is..

now I’ve got to get going on a couple of early morning writing projects..
